About us
Muddy Bears rugby school was set up in 2021 and is a small family run business providing small group rugby lessons for children aged between 2 and 5 years old. Mike has been involved with rugby for many years and played at his local club Stowmarket. This is also where the Muddy Bears Journey all started. Mike has been very fortunate to play a range of levels during his career and represent Suffolk, Eastern counties and Northampton Saints, He also played along side some outstanding players such as Ben Youngs and Callum Green (Leicester Tigers & England) who where in the same regional set up. Later on Mike decided to step away from playing and decided to focus on his family and work life, however like most people who is involved with rugby slowly gravitated his way back into playing several years later.
Mike then decided to take up a full time coaching role working with Northampton Saints coaching in the Community programmes alongside coaching for the Saints development players programme in Suffolk.
Our Vision
our vision is to provide a platform to make rugby more accessible for children at an early age in a fun and secure environment. Also to develop a life long involvement with rugby of any kind with their local grassroots club and school and to also enjoy the journey as much as we do.
